Kevin Macdonald has been involved in the pawn Industry and has been a pawn store owner and operator in Jackson, MS for 35 years. He started his first pawn store in January 1990 on Terry Road as Terry Road Pawn Shop. Since that time he has been partners in Big Daddy’s Pawn and most recently Momentum Pawn. Since 2019, he has been President of Collateral Lenders in Jackson, MS.
Kevin has served as President of The Mississippi Pawnbroker’s Association on three different occasions for a total of 15 years and has been active in Legislative affairs as it relates to the pawn Industry. He currently is Chairman of The Board for The Mississippi Pawnbroker’s Association and has served on the Board of Directors of The National Pawnbrokers Association. Kevin was the first pawnbroker to serve on the Mississippi Retail Association Board of Directors with several of those years as President. In 2001, Kevin was a founding member of the four state Dixie Pawnbroker’s Educational Conference and Trade Show which is held annually. He also was instrumental in the passing of the Mississippi Pawnshop Act in 1993 and subsequently the 2009 bill that required six hours of continuing education for pawnbrokers as part of their licensing requirement. Mississippi is only one of two states with this valuable requirement.
Kevin is married to his beautiful wife Beth and has three children and 10 grandchildren.
